I photographed Sophia for her fourth birthday a few months ago and have been wanting to blog her session for a while. She was, and always is, a *dream* to photograph. She certainly looked like a beautiful princess that day. The light was just perfect and made for some magical photos! The little yellow and white tent is a new whimsical addition to my prop stash and has been so fun to use, so let me know if you’d like me to bring it to your upcoming session.

I realize it’s been quiet on the blog. I’m sorry about that! I’ve been so busy and there just aren’t enough hours in the day to accomplish everything I need to AND get enough rest so my mind stays sane. Just a quick update about my availability: July is pretty full so I have a very limited number of slots (three) available; if you are expecting a baby any time in September, October or November my availability is extremely limited. I’m opening up a waiting list at this point for babies with due dates mid-September through mid-October. I only schedule a limited number of babies per week based on estimated due dates, but please contact me if you would like to get on my calendar.

I just realized that I had not blogged this session from October! Wow! I may never get caught up completely, so I’m just going to keep my words to a minimum. These two are so in love, so they made my job easy! I had the best time photographing them for their engagement session and can’t wait until the wedding this summer!! It’s going to be amazing! LOVED this session and Miss Emma is a beautiful little doll! That image of her in the pink cocoon with a big smile is one of my all-time favorites. In fact, I’ve already photographed her again since her newborn photos and she is growing so much! Ashley and Dusty, thank you so much for trusting me to photograph your precious baby girl. I can’t wait until I get to see that gorgeous little face again!

I always LOVE photographing families at South Padre Island! The sand and water create the perfect soft backdrop for portraits and it’s just a magical place to be. The weather for this session was crazy! It was chilly and the wind was blowing at least 40 mph. In fact, I have never seen it that windy at the beach before with no hurricane in sight. But Baby Maebel was such a trooper and held out long enough for us to get some gorgeous photos of her stunning family. Thank you so much Halley and Tyler for trusting me to capture your beautiful family!

On another note, I still have availability for the annual South Padre Island limited edition sessions which are July 10-16, 2012. These sessions are an unbelievable value and are only offered once a year at this special package price.

Two collections to choose from:

Collection I: $1,195
An hour-long photo session by the grassy sand dunes and then beach shots at sunset; a gorgeous heirloom 6×6, 20-page album; a DVD of least 15-25 images from your session; and a 10×20 3-image storyboard.

Collection II: $695
An hour-long photo session by the grassy sand dunes and then beach shots at sunset; a CD of least 15-25 images from your session; and a 10×20 3-image storyboard.

$300 retainer is due at booking to reserve your date.

I’m finally blogging the beautiful C family’s session!! The love between this family is incredible. I am so honored that I was able to capture them while they were visiting family in the Rio Grande Valley last fall. Their session was so relaxed and fun…simply perfect in every way. And they are such a gorgeous family too!! Dad is currently serving our country. Thank you Miguel for your service to protect our freedoms here at home, and thank you Angela for your sacrifice too. Your family is in my prayers! Thank you so much for trusting me to create these special keepsakes for your sweet family!

When Angela first contacted me I was so excited to learn that not only would I be photographing her and her baby bump, but her sister was coming to visit her and was also expecting! They were a few months apart in their pregnancies and wanted photos together! I had so much fun with these beautiful expecting mommies and am so thankful that they trusted me to document this special time. These images were taken in October and you can see a hint of fall in the trees!

Boy, have I really not blogged since October?!?! I’m kind of embarrassed to admit that I came to my blog today and literally had forgotten my log-in information and how to even post an update…it had been SOOOO long!

The last quarter of 2011 was a bit of a whirlwind for Melissa Rodriguez Photography and I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to meet and photograph so many beautiful babies, kiddos and families. Thank you for making 2011 so spectacular! I am really looking forward to what 2012 has in store for us – including some new product offerings and special mini sessions throughout the year!

I’m going to get caught up on the blog this month, so be ready to see a ton of beautiful faces!
