Hi and welcome to my blog. Thanks so much for visiting. I am a photographer located in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. I specialize in maternity, newborn, childrens and family photography, but also love photographing engaged couples, weddings and seniors.

My style is casual and natural and seeks to capture a slice of life! I use natural light to document your sweet moments and will work with you to find the perfect outdoor location that will reflect your family’s personality.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is getting to watch the tiny newborns that I photograph grow up! It means so much to me that parents not only trust me with their precious newborn memories, but also want me to capture those other childhood milestones…like turning the big ONE! Today is M’s actual birthday. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY from your favorite photographer! ;) He has the cutest smile!! I had so much fun at his session. We just let him do his thing and play and he was such a trooper! Thanks so much Melinda and Mark for trusting me to photograph your little one again. I know you are so proud of your precious boy! And, because it’s his birthday today, he gets a special BIG sneak peek! :)

Isn’t he the sweetest thing?! I love his perfect little lips, cute chubby cheeks and fuzzy little arms in the first photo! I was lucky enough to catch a few smiles during the session too! I’m so happy we scheduled the session when we did! Baby boy was born the next day. You have a beautiful daughter who is such a sweetheart!

This mommy and daddy sure do know how to make some gorgeous babies! I’ve been so fortunate to be able to photograph both of these little girls when they were newborns. I have to start the post with my new favorite photo! I didn’t know what to expect when I had this photo in my head, but they were both perfect models so it went off without a hitch! :) Baby A was such an angel for her session and big sister A is so sweet and loves her so much. I’m so happy I finally got to photograph Baby L! He has been through quite a bit during his first couple of months. We had to reschedule his session a couple of times because of surgery and recovery. It just doesn’t seem fair that a tiny little boy should have to go through everything that he has gone through (you can see one of his scars on his tummy in the first photo). In spite of it all, he was such a good baby for me, even though he is still recovering daily. He is so lucky to have such wonderful parents who love him so dearly. Birthday Boy! | Rio Grande Valley baby photographer | Melissa Rodriguez Photography

My oh my how this little one has grown in a year! It really seems like just yesterday that I photographed my sweet little nephew’s newborn portraits…and now he is ONE! He is such a happy baby! He is always smiling and melts your heart with those big brown eyes!

I normally don’t photograph older babies/toddlers indoors, but we tried a few and I think they are precious! However, Auntie Melissa needs to get some more masculine looking bouncing balls. He LOVES playing with balls, but all I had to choose from was Hannah Montana and Disney Princesses! Luckily, we found one that didn’t look too girly. :)

Welcome Baby A! Thank you so much Monica and Alonzo for trusting me to capture your baby boy! It has been such an honor to photograph all three of your children when they were newborns. And now with the birth of your beautiful son, your family is complete! :) Thank you for having faith in my evolving abilities as a photographer! You see, they have been with me since I was just starting out and their oldest daughter was one of the first newborns I photographed. I’ve enjoyed watching your family grow over the years and can’t wait to continue to do so.

Isn’t this little man too cute for words?? :) I had such a fun time photographing him. His mommy kept him really full and he was such a good baby for us. Kelly and Rocco, I’m so happy for you two! Baby K | Rio Grande Valley baby photographer | Melissa Rodriguez Photography

Well, we tried and tried to get this little man to sleep, but 3 month olds don’t want to miss anything that’s going on around them and Baby K certainly didn’t either. His mommy really wanted photos of him sleeping and in the brief 60 seconds that his eyes were closed during the session, I got one shot of him sleeping! So, I hope you like the photo of your sleeping little angel! :) However, with a smile like his, I’m so glad we got to see it the whole session! Talk about a happy boy!!
