Newborn Session Details
Photographing newborns brings me such joy! Capturing these first few days of their life is something I am so passionate about and truly honored to photograph.
When: If you would like portraits of your newborn, you should contact me early in your pregnancy so we can reserve a session spot for you in the month you are due. Once your baby makes their arrival, you should give me a call or send me an e-mail or text within a day or two so we can schedule the session within the first 10 days. Most of the newborns you see on my Web site were photographed at 4-7 days old. This allows us to get those adorable, curled up, sleepy poses.
Newborn session: Newborn sessions generally last 3-4 hours which allows for plenty of time to feed and soothe your baby. All newborn sessions are done at my home studio in order to have access to all of the adorable knitted props and perfect lighting!
Child, Family and Couple’s Session Details
When?
I use natural light to capture your sweet moments, so I schedule sessions early in the morning and in the early evening when there is no harsh light.
Where?
I shoot on location. Sometimes that location is a park, the beach, a favorite place, or your home. Children generally feel more comfortable in familiar surroundings and that makes for great portraits that truly reflect their personalities.
What to wear?
We will discuss clothing at the clothing consultation before the session.
What to bring?
Bring toys that your kids love, or a hobby they enjoy, something that has a special meaning to you as a couple, or nothing at all!
Frequently asked questions
What is a session like?
Sessions are never rushed and usually last 1-3 hours. Young children are encouraged to have snacks, breaks, and play time to keep them happy and relaxed. I like to interact with children to capture their playful spirit. I may ask parents to step aside so your children can play and express themselves without being prompted to smile or say cheese.
When will I see my images?
In approximately 2-3 weeks after your session we will have an ordering consultation where you will view your images and place your order. Payment must be collected before the order is processed. After your order is completed please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery of prints. Rushed orders are available at an additional charge.
